Service Description

Postpartum shifts are meant to focus on the needs of the birthing person. This can include, but is not limited to: Protected Sleep or respite from responsibilities: Emily can care for all the children in your home while you sleep, bathe, or just spend some time alone. Bonding time with newborn: Emily can care for other children in the home and handle things like meals and laundry while you rest and spend alone time with your newborn. Bonding time with older children or your partner: Emily can take care of the newborn’s needs while you spend time with other children or your partner. This may include an uninterrupted meal, time to have a little fun, or simply be present with one another. A yoni steam or sitz bath and an in-home massage. Support during gentle movement (ie, a walk or stretching) Meal prep or logistical planning for household management. Recommendations for perinatal professionals or other supportive resources to enhance your healing and help you build a supportive network for parenting to your best ability Information about infant care, specifically education around infant sleep cycles, soothing your infant, feeding cues, etc. Emily brings you one nourishing postpartum meal, a snack for your time together, one sweet treat for you & your partner to enjoy. Whatever you want or need!!! Debrief the birth and discuss concerns: a reflective practice and any notes from the birth are combined with your recollection of what happened (and how you felt about it!) to help you create a timeline for your experience and begin forming your birth narrative. This part of the visit also includes a check-in about your postpartum healing, infant care, and working together in making a plan to address any concerns you may have about yourself or your baby’s well being. Emily makes recommendations for supporting your healing process if you want and can advise with helpful scripts for addressing your concerns with your provider or partner. Sibling support: Emily can care for older children, prepare meals, do homework help, and tidy. Emily can also help support parents as they navigate introducing siblings to their new role.
